The Grunewaldstraße is situated in the locality Steglitz which makes part of the district Steglitz-Zehlendorf, situated in the southwest of Berlin. Together with Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Steglitz-Zehlendorf belongs to the upper-class neighbourhoods of Berlin, with a high number of luxurious residential areas. The Grunewaldstraße itself is only 5 minutes by foot from the center of Steglitz, situated around the Steglitz Rathaus (Steglitz City Hall) and the second largest shopping boulevard in the city, the Schloßstraße.
The public transport facilities are also excellent. There are the subway station (U9) and the commuter train station (S-Bahn) at Rathaus Steglitz. Both of them can be easily reached by foot. Bus line X83 can be found at the corner of Grunewaldstraße and Lepsiusstraße, some 180m from the house entrance.
The recent residential projects in the district have been also aimed at a certain higher-income clientele due to their top-quality and exclusivity. One of the most famous is the “Fünf Morgen Dahlem Urban Village” in Dahlem, developed by Stofanel, including 50.000m² of luxurious townhouses, villas and apartments, built around an artificial lake.
Last but not least the recreational offer in the area is excellent due to its vicinity to the Botanical Garden, various parks and the city forest at Grunewald, including also the Grunewald lake (Grunewaldsee).
